IGNITE

Ignite Programme

Empowering Young People to Thrive – Academically, Socially, and Emotionally

What is Ignite? The Ignite Programme is a holistic, youth-centred development programme designed for students facing various challenges. It provides structured, engaging, and curriculum-aligned sessions that support young people navigating today’s challenges — from social pressures and anxiety to peer relationships and the impact of social media.

At its core, Ignite equips students with the tools to:

· Build confidence, resilience, and communication skills

· Develop healthy relationships with peers and staff

· Learn practical coping strategies for stress and change

· Strengthen emotional literacy and wellbeing

· Set goals and aspirations for their future

Programme Structure

Delivered flexibly to meet school needs, Ignite runs as a seven-to-eight-week programme (with options to expand) covering:

1. Team Building – Communication, collaboration, and trust.

2. Emotional Wellbeing – Self-awareness, resilience, and mental health literacy.

3. Coping Strategies – Creative expression, mindfulness, and self-care.

4. Goal Setting & Future Focus – Growth mindset, confidence, and aspirations.

5. Wellbeing in Action – Reflection, celebration, and practical application.

Optional expansion sessions include:

· The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health

· Critical Thinking for navigating complex choices

Flexible Modular Menu Ignite is built around a modular menu system, enabling schools to select and adapt sessions to meet the specific needs of their young people. This ensures the programme is tailored, relevant, and impactful for every group.

Testimonials and Case Studies

  • LR attended our Ignite programme during Spring Term 2026. He previously attended our drop in sessions at Belmont School, where his continuous challeging behaviour resulted in being banned (ban was placed by the school). During his time at Ignite, he started as a quiet disengaged member of the group however by the end, he was happy to contribute to all discussions and engaged in all activities. His behaviour, although not always perfect, improved greatly over the 8 weeks spent at Ignite. He is now welcome back into drop in, and is happy to engage and chat with us.

  • EG started attending drop ins during a difficult time in his life. His brother had recently passed away, and he was having a hard time dealing with it. He was also being bullied at school. Our drop ins have become a safe place for him to come and chat to us about how hes feeling, and he said they really help him especially when hes having a bad day. He also came to a couple of our evening sessions as a result of meeting us at drop in. EG was chosen to attend our Ignite programme and continues to come and see us at school drop in every week. This continued relationship shows how meaningful youth work is in Schools.

  • ST attends all of our weekly drop in sessions at Belmont School. We have developed a positive and trusting relationship with him over the past year. During one of our drop ins, he opened up to us about a situation at home which resulted in raising a safeguarding issue and police/SS involvement. ST was very open with us about the process that followed after that and the outcomes, and he contines to come to our drop ins where he feels comfortable and supported by the youth workers.
