Corporate Sponsorship
Our corporate sponsorship scheme is the perfect way for your business to support young people and the local community. It provides an opportunity to become a key supporter allowing provision of high quality youth activities in rural villages outside of County Durham for young people to easily access.
From having your logo on our staff and volunteering clothing, charity branding and website to having an advert in our email newsletter or presenting a trophy at one of our events, we will make sure you get the most from your sponsorship. With three levels to choose from, our corporate sponsorship scheme has a package to suit all businesses and organisations. This includes charity, locality, and event sponsorship opportunities.
Matching donations
Our young people organise a range of fundraising events during the year to help enhance the opportunities, trips, and activities they can access via Durham Area Youth.
We are therefore always looking for ways to increase the money raised and therefore by businesses providing match donations we can increase the funds that our young people work so hard to raise.
Payroll giving
Individual employees are now able to make unlimited donations to any charity of their choice from their pre-tax pay. If you are an employer or an employee whose company decides to get involved in payroll giving, we would be delighted if you could include us on your list of named charities.

Gift Aid
Gift Aid is an income tax relief designed to benefit charities just like ours. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid increases the value of your charity donations by 25% as the charity can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift at no extra cost to you.
Event sponsorship
Durham Area Youth are keen to grow supporters and host events to raise funds for the work we do across our communities.
The following events are currently available for event sponsorship:

Sponsorship of such an event could promote and benefit your company or organisation, helping you market your business to a new audience.
One off or regular direct donation
Donations are handled by Charities Aid Foundation who provide a secure way of donating any amount either as a one off or as a regular donation. If you are a UK tax payer you can also boost the amount you donate by agreeing to Gift Aid your donation.

Online Shopping
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for Durham Area Youth with easyfundraising?
There are over 8,000 retailers on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis & Partners, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.

3. After you’ve checked out, the retailer will make a donation to Durham Area Youth at no extra cost to you whatsoever!

Information
Who can attend?
Our sessions are open to young people aged 6–18 who live in or attend school in the communities we serve, including Sherburn Hill, Sherburn Village, West Rainton, Pittington, Shadforth and Bournmoor. Most of our provision is open access, which means young people can come along, get involved and help shape what we do.
What age do young people need to be?
We welcome young people who are in Year 2 at Primary School which are age 6/7. At the age of 11 and in year 6 they start the transition into our senior group.
When and where do sessions take place?
We run evening youth sessions across our community venues, along with school-based support, outreach projects and holiday programmes throughout the year.
Up-to-date session times, locations and any changes are shared through our social media channels and directly with families and young people.
How much does it cost?
We aim to keep our sessions affordable and accessible to everyone. Some activities may have a small charge to cover resources or trips, and any costs will always be shared in advance. If cost is ever a barrier, please speak to a member of the team — support is often available.
Our weekly sessions cost £1, with the money being reinvested back into the village for new resources and activities for young people.
Inclusion and additional needs
We are an inclusive organisation and welcome young people of all abilities, including those with additional needs such as autism and ADHD. We will always do what we can to adapt activities and remove barriers so everyone can take part safely and confidently.
While we are unable to provide one-to-one support, we work closely with parents, carers and partner professionals to create individual support plans and make reasonable adjustments wherever possible.
Safeguarding and wellbeing
The safety and wellbeing of young people is our highest priority. All staff and volunteers are appropriately trained and DBS checked, and our sessions provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can build trusted relationships, access guidance and feel heard.
Food and holiday provision
During school holidays we deliver funded programmes in partnership with organisations such as Fun and Food. These sessions provide healthy meals alongside enriching activities and experiences, helping to tackle food poverty and social isolation.
Volunteering and leadership opportunities
We offer a growing young volunteers programme where young people can:
- develop confidence and leadership skills
- gain experience for college, university or employment
- have a real influence on our projects and community
